Self// The Red Campaign
Case Study – Production Ready
As a demonstration for production ready AI use, I extended my fictional makeup brand by introducing the Red Campaign. The intent was to show high quality AI outputs for a variety of mediums in proper sizing and resolution. Starting from a very simple foundation of model, product and prompting, the goal was to generate start to finish ad production through the use of various AI tools, notably some new work with LumaLabs models.
The Approach
Foundation
Using Nano, I built out a variety of model poses and expressions, along with the makeup to act as the foundation for the campaign.
AI Concepting
Working directly with AI programs, I built out a variety of ad dimensions and ready for production outputs.

Selected concepts vetted for product accuracy and layout before final refinements.

Characters
Using my Self// feature model, I added her to a primarily ‘setless’ ad board focusing on look and feel.
Illustration
Concepting with AI, I was able to land on a geometric design with hard reds and blacks to emphasize the edgy feel of the model’s personal brand.
Product
Several products were featured in the ads that are direct from my approved design concepts, maintaining branding and distinct features.













Learnings
This experiment was done with some amazing tools within Luma Labs. I was thoroughly impressed in how well it handled text, detail and helped create ad concepts with me from basic ideas. Important learning here was creative direction. AI can easily spin into new territories without guidance and vision for the final execution. Strong prompting, brand references and a clear goal were still important in building out a polished concept.
